One of the selections in the Martagon group, warm yellow flowers, many purple-red speckles on the inside of the flowers. These lilies have a natural look, spread a wildflower scent and are attractive to bumblebees, bees and butterflies. Plant them in light, humus-rich soil (lime) with good drainage.

A recently introduced Grape hyacinth. Flowering time: April-May. Very dark blue with a small white edge, excellent for naturalizing.

Scilla persica is found in wet meadows in Turkey and northern and western Iran. Up to fifty star-shaped bright blue flowers in an airy flower cluster.

Peruvian Star Hyacinth. Very pretty but unfortunately not entirely hardy Scilla, the round flower cluster contains up to a hundred star-shaped, blue flowers and tapers slightly at the top.
