Solomon's Seal and closely related species. In general, plants for a shady spot, hardy. Preferably in a humus-rich soil. Size I. Hardiness zone 6.

Disporopsis pernyi
A Chinese forest plant related to Solomon's seal. White, lightly scented, pendulous flowers. Evergreen and vigorously growing. -
Disporum flavens
Fairy Bells. An American woodland plant, closely related to Solomon's Seal with beautiful, soft yellow, bell-shaped flowers in spring. After flowering, the shiny black berries appear. -
Polygonatum 'Weihenstephan'
Large Solomon's Seal, with long overhanging stems, from which hang small whitish bells. Elegant plant. -
Polygonatum commutatum
Large, tall Solomon's Seal that grows into an impressive plant over the years. -

False Solomon's seal. Unlike the common Solomon's seal, this perennial flowers with flower panicles instead of pendulous bell-shaped flowers. The plant can eventually grow to a height of almost 1 metre. Prefers a position in semi-shade to shade and a lime-poor but humus-rich soil. -
Uvularia grandiflora 'Pallida'
Greenish Bellwort, Large merrybells. Soft yellow, nodding, wide-opening bell-shaped flowers at the end of the approx. 40 cm. long stems. Feels perfectly at home in acidic, humus-rich soil in the semi-shade. A woodland plant.
