Trillium is a beautiful woodland plant for in the (semi-)shade on humus-rich soil. It takes a while for the plant to develop, the rhizome may even remain latent the first year after planting. But it is worth the wait. Rare, pure white, double flowered variety.

Syn. Littonia modesta. South African climber, with rather large bell shaped orange flowers, height 100 - 120 cm. When planted in the glasshouse they flower within 8 weeks. Very good for in a pot and as a cut flower. Related to Sandersonia and Gloriosa.

Very dark red with a white collar, height 90 cm., flower size 7-8 cm.

Angel's Fishing Rod, Bell. A plant native to South Africa with dainty flower spikes full of pink-red bells, a somewhat lower form. For a not too dry habitat in full sun. Flowering can take several years.
