Tulipa acuminata

A fragrant wild tulip, native to Iran and Syria. The pink, star-shaped flowers appear up to three per stem above the grey-green wavy leaves. -

In 1999, this stately wild tulip received an Award of Garden Merit from the R.H.S. The creamy yellow flowers show a red haze with a green edge on the outside. Fine for naturalising, also in the grass.
